Installing System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator

Prerequisites

  1. Service Accounts needed: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh912319.aspx
    Server Service
    Management server Orchestrator Management ServiceOrchestrator Runbook Server Monitor service
    Runbook server Orchestrator Runbook Service

    We are just creating one user, as we already have the necessary users for the Management Server.
    New user: OrchestratorRunbook

Installing System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator

  1. Insert your installation media and press Install.

  2. Insert your info and press next, accept the terms, and next again..

  3. Choose features to install. Expand to read about the features.

  4. Type in the OrchestratorRunbook user. This user must have “Log on as service” rights enabled. Orchestrator ¬†will do this for us if you havn’t done so already.
    Press “Test” to check credentials, then next.

  5. Enter server\instance for the SQL server.
    We set this up in Installing SQL Server 2012 SP1 Standard for System Center 2012
    Press “Test Database Connection” to check that it Works.

  6. Choose a new or existing database. I’m choosing “New“. Next.

  7. Decide wheter to “Grant remote access to Runbook Designer” or not.
